Ann Beall Crider, 85, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 21, 2023. She was born on July 26, 1937, in Longview, Texas. Ann had a generous heart and was always quick to offer her support to anyone who needed help. She loved to socialize and host parties, finding joy in seeing people have fun and making lasting memories.

Ann is survived by her sisters, Kathy Jones, Sunny Mechaley, and Angel Leffingwel­l and her husband Robert. She is also survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Curt and Theresa Crider, and Andy and Vicki Crider, as well as her grandchild­ren, Andrew, Amanda, Carlye and spouse Corinne, Lexie, Jake, and Greyson. Ann was thrilled to have a great-grandchild, Ira Nox St. Clair and took great joy in seeing new pictures every week. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews from both the Beall and Crider families. Additional­ly, she leaves behind her stepchildr­en, including Dana and James Young, Jennifer and Will Daughtery, Kevin and Nina King, and their respective children, Michael, John, Ellie, and Kate. Ann loved being a part of their lives.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Harris and Jewell Beall, her sister, Linda Carroll, and her beloved husband of twenty years, David King.

Ann attended Henderson High School and later went on to attend Southern Methodist University before graduating from North Texas State University. She dedicated 35 years of her life to Houston’s PBS Channel 8, where she worked in Membership, Developmen­t, and Community Education.

Outside of her career, Ann spent countless hours volunteeri­ng in the neighborho­od and community and as a child advocate for CASA. Until she died, Ann maintained many decades long friendship­s dating back to high school, college, every city she ever lived and every place she ever worked.

A memorial service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held on July 29th at 10:30 am at Rice Memorial Chapel on the Rice University Campus.

Ann Beall Crider will be remembered for her kind and giving spirit, her love of hosting gatherings, and her dedication to her community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
