Lynette Goodman Rauch, 88, passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Born and raised in St. Louis she set her sights on warmer climates and headed to the University of Texas. In Austin, Lynette met Alan Rauch, resulting in a union of calling each other “Billy” for 64 years that included three children, Bradley (Sharon), Polly (David) and Jonathan (Renna (z’l)), 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Lynette and Alan filled their lives with family, friends, and travel. Almost immediately following their marriage they took off for Bangkok where Alan was stationed in the Navy. There she developed a passion for travel, particularly to the more remote parts of the world, which instilled a love for different cultures and shaped her unique sense of style. Her time in Thailand was always one of her most cherished memories. After establishing their home back in Houston, she was the only mom serving Indonesian curry to her elementary school age children.

Lynette’s greatest joy was being with and supporting her family. Meals at her house often involved a theme and there were always speeches about the accomplishments of the family members. When not distressed about politics or unwilling to discuss moving to a condominium, she loved working in her greenhouse or sitting on her deck surrounded by her plants and orchids.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Congregation Beth Israel, 5600 N. Braeswood Blvd., Houston, TX 77096. The service may be streamed at https://www. beth-israel.org/about-us/news-events-upcomingevents/livestreaming/.
