Empire Communities recently honored dozens of their generous vendors and suppliers at a GHBA Benefit Homes Project Vendor Appreciation Luncheon held at the Greater Houston Builders Association offices. These companies were honored for donating materials, labor, and services for the construction of Empire’s Walkerton Plan, that recently sold. Proceeds from the sale benefit three local charities.

Empire’s purchasing department, led by Craig Spriggs, VP of purchasing, helped secure dozens of suppliers and trades to team with Empire to build this single story, 1,774 sq. ft. home that offers four bedrooms, two baths, an open-concept kitchen with a dining area and living room.

At the back of the Walkerton is a spacious primary bedroom that features ample privacy and impressive backyard views, as well as an expansive walk-in closet and dual sinks in the master bath. The home is nestled within the Sam Houston National Forest in Conroe.

Representatives from many of these companies were on hand to celebrate the completion of construction and to receive their appreciation award. Empire built their home on a homesite in Venetian Pines that was donated by Bold Fox Development. The home was sold shortly after completion, and proceeds from the sale will be presented to HomeAid Houston, Operation Finally Home and the GHBA Charitable Foundation, all non-profits.

Guests were treated to a full barbecue buffet that was sponsored for the 18th year by Allpoints Surveying Group.

Representatives from the charities, the GHBA and the builder/developer teams showed their appreciation of the donations by saying a few words. Speakers were Scott Merovitch, chairman of the Benefit Homes Project and city president with Chesmar Homes; Mike Dishberger, president of GHBA; Tracy Brown, Houstonarea president with Empire Communities; Alex Kamkar, managing shareholder of Bold Fox Development; Lee Kirgan with Operation Finally Home; and Carole Brady, executive director of HomeAid Houston.

“Empire Communities has enjoyed participating as builder captain for the GHBA Benefit Homes charity fundraiser this year,” said Brown. “It’s such a tremendous opportunity to be able to provide funding to these outstanding organizations. We are extremely grateful to all of our vendors, suppliers, and trade base that generously gave financially and through their time, to build this
