Pearland ISD adds short fall break in 2024-25 calendar

Pearland ISD officials approved a school calendar for the 2024-25 academic year with an additional short fall break.

The district’s advisory calendar committee, which created the calendar, recently accepted public feedback for two drafted options. Committee members reviewed and shared the results with the district’s board of trustees at a Jan. 23 meeting.

Students across the district will begin next school year on Aug. 12.

Key differences

The new calendar includes an additional short fall break in October for students and teachers. Students will not have school from Oct. 16-18, and teachers will be off Oct. 17 and 18.

In the 2023-24 calendar, only students were given one day off on Oct. 9 for staff development.

Students will also receive the day off Feb. 17, giving them a fourday Valentine’s Day weekend.

Staff will receive one day off on April 18 for Easter break, compared to two days on March 29 and April 1 last year. However, students will still be off for two days on April 18 and 21 for the break in 2025.

School hours

Elementary schools, including Pre-K: 7:55 a.m.-3:15 p.m.

Middle/junior high schools: 8:35 a.m.-3:55 p.m.

High schools, including PACE Center: 7:15 a.m.-2:35 p.m.

These times remained the same as the 2023-24 academic year.
