Wesley Frank Krueger,

90, of Houston passed away Saturday, February 3rd, 2024.

Wesley was born in

Houston to Lynn and Ester Krueger on October 20, 1933.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lynn Krueger; and sister, Lydia Lands. Wesley is survived by his wife Bertha (Puddin) Krueger and children. Ray Krueger - wife Diane; Tammy Johnston - husband Dan;

Ken Krueger - wife Kathleen; Ben Krueger - wife Beth; Katherine McNeal - fiancé Gene Frazier; along with 12 grandchild­ren and 14 great grandchild­ren.

Wes was baptized on December 10, 1933 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Houston and grew up in the Heights. He attended Reagan high school, served in the US

Navy during the Korean war, attended the University of Houston and worked at Schlumberg­er for 32 years. After his career he worked for State Representa­tive Dwayne Bohac as a community organizer. A devout Lutheran, he attended Immanuel Lutheran, Gethsemane Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran church in Houston and was very involved in the Houston Lutheran Chorale and with a barber shop quartet singing Tenor.

His work ethic stuck with all his children who have been blessed by his example. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfathe­r always positive and friendly. He was involved in Boy Scouts with his sons, coached sports and attended many extracurri­cular activities for his children and grandchild­ren. He also was the bus driver on numerous family vacations. He deeply loved his wife (Puddin) and they did escape from their 5 children on occasion. Later in life they traveled extensivel­y to exotic places such as Africa, Asia, Europe and even Australia.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and daughters, several of which continue to be enthusiast­ic about these activities. He loved playing golf and had a unique swing that was amazingly effective at landing the ball where he intended. He also enjoyed smoking his pipes and he had many pipes to choose from!

Above all Wesley was a devout Christian man and raised his children the same. Church was an integral part of his life as was his love of God.

The family will receive visitors from 9:30-11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church Downtown with services starting 11am on Friday February 9th. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity Downtown or the Houston Lutheran Chorale mailed to 800 Houston Ave., Houston, TX 77007. Or to the Church Extension Fund of the Texas District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, Austin, TX.
