JEANNETTE GLOVER STONE

Jeannette Glover Stone died peacefully at home on January 28, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born March 11, 1938, in Houston, Texas, to William T. “Pete” and Lourine E. Glover.
Jeannette grew up in Leggett, Texas and graduated in 1956 as salutatorian from Leggett High School. She received her “cap” in 1960 from Memorial’s Lillie Jolly School of Nursing. In addition to raising two wonderful children, she worked at Jacobs Engineering for 46 years until her retirement. She was an active member of First Methodist Church of Houston, and served on the wedding guild for many years. She assisted in hundreds of weddings over her time on the guild. She later joined St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of Houston with her grandchildren.
Jeannette will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
She was known for her kindness, compassion and selflessness, and generously devoted her time to helping others. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she was a constant fixture in the stands for many youth sports events.
Jeannette is preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Kailee Godeaux. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Godeaux and husband Bobby; son, Wesley Stone and wife Carolyn; sister Carolyn Hockley; grandchildren Kelsee Davis, Peter Stone and Natalie
Stone; great grandchildren Kaselynn Davis, Kinslee Davis and Emberlie Davis: and many cousins, nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the Chapel at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of Houston, 3471 Westheimer Road, with Rev. Katie Montgomery Mears officiating. A reception will follow in the Hines Baker Room. The family would like to thank her dedicated friends and her caregivers for their support.
