No. 4 Kansas outlasts No. 13 Baylor

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Hunter Dickinson scored 15 points to lead a balanced attack as No. 4 Kansas extended its home winning streak to 18 games with a 64-61 win over No. 13 Baylor on Saturday night.

Baylor got the ball with 14.2 seconds left and a chance to tie it, but Jayden Nunn’s 3-point try from the corner was short. After Nicolas Timberlake missed the front end of a one-andone, Ja’Kobe Walter’s 3point attempt caromed off the rim.

Kansas, 13-0 at home this season, played without guard Kevin McCullar, who is out with a knee injury. Timberlake made his first start with the Jayhawks.

Baylor coach Scott Drew is now 1-15 in Allen Fieldhouse.

Kansas (19-5, 7-4 Big 12) got 14 points from Dajuan Harris, 13 from KJ Adams and 11 from Johnny Furphy.

Baylor (17-6, 6-4) was led by Yves Missi with 21 points and Walter with 17.

TEXAS A&M 85

NO. 6 TENNESSEE 69

Tyrece Radford had 27 points and Wade Taylor IV added 25 as the Aggies never trailed in a win over the Vols in College Station.

The victory is the third straight and fifth in the last six games for Texas A&M (15-8, 6-4 SEC). It’s A&M’s second win this season over a top-10 team after the Aggies outlasted then-No. 6 Kentucky in a 97-92 overtime victory Jan. 13.

Dylan Disu scored 19 of his 27 points in the first half, and Max Abmas scored 19 points to move past Oscar Robertson on the all-time scoring list as the Longhorns routed the Mountainee­rs in Austin.

Abmas, a graduate transfer who played four years at Oral Roberts, passed Robertson with his third 3-pointer of the first half into 12th all-time scoring in NCAA history.

Abmas — with 2,987 career points — is 13-points short of the 3,000-point career mark, only accomplish­ed by 11 other players. Next on the list to pass is Bradley’s Hersey Hawkins with 3,008 points.

Tyrese Hunter scored 19 points while shooting 8-for-12 for Texas (16-8, 5-6 Big 12).

Jesse Edwards scored 17 points for West Virginia (8-15, 3-7).

NO. 14 IOWA STATE 71 TCU 59

Tre King scored 15 points, and Keshon Gilbert had 13 points and seven assists, helping the Cyclones beat the visiting Horned Frogs.

Curtis Jones also scored 13 points for Iowa State (18-5, 7-3 Big 12), which improved to 14-0 at home this season. The Cyclones shot 50% (24 for 48) from the field and went 15 for 18 at the free-throw line.

Emanuel Miller led

TCU (16-7, 5-5) with 18 points while shooting 8-of-12.

NO. 23 TEXAS TECH 66 CENTRAL FLORIDA 59

Darrion Williams had 13 points and 13 rebounds, Kerwin Walton scored 12 points on four 3-pointers before halftime, and the Red Raiders (17-6, 6-4 Big 12) never trailed on their way to a win over the visiting Knights (13-9, 4-6) that snapped a three-game losing streak.

SOUTH FLORIDA 69 RICE 65

Chris Youngblood had 24 points, and the Bulls beat the Owls at Tudor Fieldhouse for their ninth straight victory.

Youngblood was 8for-14 shooting (6-for-7 from 3-point range) for South Florida (17-5, 10-1 American Athletic Conference). Kasean Pryor scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Selton Miguel had 12 points.

Travis Evee finished with 20 points for Rice (9-15, 3-8).

Max Fiedler totaled 13 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Keanu Dawes added 13 points and eight rebounds.

HOUSTON CHRISTIAN 86 INCARNATE WORD 83

Jay Alvarez’s 25 points helped the Huskies defeat the visiting Cardinals.

Alvarez also contribute­d nine rebounds for Houston Christian (6-16, 4-7 Southland Conference). Michael Imariagbe scored 18 points while going 7-of 12 and 4-of-8 from the free-throw line and added seven rebounds. Marcus Greene had 14 points and shot 5 for 10, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc.

Josiah Hammons led the way for Incarnate Word (7-16, 2-8) with 22 points.

FLORIDA A&M 75 (OT)

Zytarious Mortle scored 24 points as the Tigers beat the Rattlers in Tallahasse­e, Fla.

Mortle was 7-of-11 shooting, including 3-for-6 from 3-point range, and went 7-for-10 from the line for TSU (9-12, 7-3 Southweste­rn Athletic Conference). Jaylen Wysinger added 20 points.

A.J. Hoggard had 23 points to lead the Spartans (15-9, 7-6 Big Ten) over the visiting Fighting Illini (17-6, 8-4).

Jeremiah Williams scored 18 points in his first home game of the season, and the host Scarlet Knights (13-10, 5-7 Big Ten) used a stifling defense to lead the entire game and hand the No. 11 Badgers (16-8, 8-5) their fourth straight loss.

Riley Kugel scored 22 points, Walter Clayton Jr. added 20, and the host Gators (16-7, 6-4 SEC) upset the Tigers (19-5, 8-3) to put themselves in position to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in three years.
