San Jacinto College offers varied bachelor’s degrees

San Jacinto College is expanding its offerings to provide greater value to East Harris County residents. With a focus on cost savings, students can now pursue bachelor’s degrees at San Jac, paying a third of the cost of area universiti­es.

The College now offers three bachelor’s degree options: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education (BAS-ECE), and Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecur­ity (BAT). All three programs cater to both first-time college students and those looking to move beyond their associate degree.

• The BSN program, tailored for working RNs, is fully online and accepts 30 students each semester. Graduates can expect to earn around $83,738 annually in the Gulf Coast region.

• BAS-ECE prepares students for careers in early childhood education

BAS-ECE prepares students for careers in early childhood education with potential earnings of $64,424 for teachers and $61,518 for preschool and childcare administra­tors.

• The BAT in cybersecur­ity, launching in fall 2024 pending approval from Southern Associatio­n of Colleges and Schools Commission on Schools, offers handson experience in a security operations center, leading to roles like security analyst or chief informatio­n security officer with potential earnings of $110,512.

Registrati­on for summer classes is available now, and fall 2024 registrati­on opens on April 1.
