Kurt John Bauske, 62, passed from this life on April 1, 2024, in Tomball, TX. He was born on October 9, 1961, in Evanston, Illinois to Kenneth and Faye Bauske.

Kurt had a youthful spirit and boundless curiosity. He enthusiastically practiced every genre of humor known to humankind. He was fearless and never lost his childlike playfulness. He rejoiced in the simple things in life, and the outdoors were his playground. He completed his master’s degree in German Studies in Klagenfurt, Austria, and discovered a love for Alpine hiking and mountain climbing. He met his wife Brenda there, and the two of them became close partners not only in their marriage but also in their profession as high school German teachers. They designed their own Austrian summer study abroad program called Lern-Sommer in which they took participating students back to the Alpine wonderland where they met, all the while pursuing many other professional projects together. Kurt and Brenda had one son, Kurt Jr., whom Kurt loved fiercely and took on long walks and explored nearby woods where they built campfires and forts and threw rocks into streams.

Kurt retired after 34 years as a beloved teacher at Cy-Fair High School. In retirement, he pursued a multitude of other hobbies with zeal including fishing, landscape painting, playing the piano and guitar, and singing. Kurt was one of a kind, and his wit and zeal for life were unmatched. He brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He leaves his family and friends with countless memories and lessons about how to live life to the fullest.
