MARY GLYNN KING BLALOCK

04/02/1934 - 04/02/2024

-

This world lost the dynamic force of nature that was; Mary Glynn King Blalock, April 2, 2024, on her 90th Birthday.

God said I can’t wait one more minute without you here with me. He took her by the hand as she slept, no pain, no struggle. Just walked away hand in hand with the Lord.

Mary Glynn with her unbreakable will, sharp-asa-razor intellect, movie-star quality beauty, and wicked sense of humor, fought hard, loved passionately, and lived on her own terms.

She possessed many talents and abilities, fashion and cooking being only a couple. The only thing stronger than her independent nature was her faith in Jesus! She took every opportunity to tell people about Christ and how they too, could have a personal relationship with him, (No matter the environment she found herself in.)

Glynn was born in Winnsboro, Texas, and was always proud of that fact.

Born eldest daughter of five to Malcom Mabry King and Mary Syble Troxler King. Four younger sisters, the twins, Dayle (Judy) King Lewis (surviving), Gayle (Froggy) King Thompson; Norma Jean King Campbell, and Linda Lyneele King Fennen.

She married Richard H. Blalock in 1950, at Alta Vista Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas, at the age of 16. That union produced three of the finest people walking on the planet! (Mary Glynn quote.)

Children, Michael Wayne Blalock, Patricia Gayle Blalock, Tyna Marie Blalock Oppert (change of life baby); daughter-in-law of 49 years, Sheri Elaine Arthur Blalock; grandchildren, Richard Clinton Blalock, Erin Michelle Blalock Schechter, Michael Wayne Blalock Jr., and Joshua Mabry Oppert (Possum).

Nothing gave her more joy than her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Loved her or hated her, you never overlooked her! She will be unbelievably missed! We Love You Mom!

Remembrance of Mary Glynn King Blalock will be a private affair amongst family and close friends.
