A green giant finds home in Egyptian hall
“Kid curators” Abigail Myers, 7, and Jacob Blackman, 9, join Tom Hardwick, consulting curator of Egyptology, on Wednesday after revealing the giant sarcophagus of Gemshuankh, which will be part of the new permanent Hall of Ancient Egypt at the HoustonMuseum of Natural Science. The sarcophagus dates to 664-323 BC and stands out for its large size and green face, which symbolizes rebirth.
