Vero Italian Kitchen will open second Kuykendahl location in June

- By Tamra Santana

Locally owned Vero Italian Kitchen is opening a second location on Kuykendahl Road next month.

The fast casual Italian restaurant opened in Conroe five years ago, serving homemade pizza, pasta and salads.

All of its food is made from scratch, including its meatballs, sauces, bread, dough and salad dressings, said Michael Lemmons, owner of the new location.

The new restaurant will be located at 20706 Kuykendahl Road, Suite F, and is expected to open the first week of June.

“We’re trying to give people good, quality food, great service and really good prices in a cool looking, modern restaurant,” Lemmons said.

Lemmons’ brother, Les Lemmons, started Vero Italian Kitchen at 1301 W. Davis St., Conroe.

Les Lemmons had previously owned 37 CiCi’s Pizza franchises in the Houston area and also had owned a Chick-fil-A. He sold those businesses to start his own concept, Vero Italian Kitchen.

Les Lemmons has now franchised Vero Italian Kitchen. A third restaurant is opening soon in Cypress.

The Kuykendahl location was chosen for its demographics and familyfriendly area and its close proximity to the main Conroe location and to the new Cypress restaurant.

“We’re not too far from each other,” Lemmons said. “We can help each other out.”

The family is looking to open a fourth Vero’s Italian Kitchen in The Woodlands next year, Lemmons said.
