Hot dogs! JCI is celebrating its anniversary
JCI Grill — you may know it as James Coney Island — is once again marking its anniversary with a hot dog deal. Every third Thursday of the month through September, the Houston-born chain is offering 92-cent hot Original Coneys. That’s a penny for every year JCI has been around.
An Original Coney is a hot dog with mustard, chili and onions. You can upgrade to a Cheese Coney for 30 cents extra.
Deal dates are Thursday, June 18, July 16 and Aug. 20.
New this year is the JCI Grill Anniversary Cup. Purchase the large, insulated plastic cup with your choice of drink for $5.99 and, on deal days, you can get a refill for 92 cents. Refill the cup others days for $1.89.
James Coney Island was founded in 1923 by brothers Tom and James Papadakis, who opened their first hot dog stand downtown. There currently are 20 Houston-area stores.
