The Orchard Assisted Living & Memory Care, 24802 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, recently welcomed the senior residents’ family members and special guests for a two-part celebration in honor of its grand opening and gave a preview of what life is like at this new senior living community in Katy.

The Orchard is a petfriendly community built in a residential setting.

Services and amenities include a full-time events coordinator, onsite 24-hour trained caregivers, weekly housekeeping, laundry services, scheduled local transportation for medical appointments, shopping, religious services and other local activities, assistance with bathing and dressing, medication management and onsite physical therapy.

Each resident’s abilities and needs are reviewed and assessed quarterly to determine the appropriate level of care. Three balanced meals are provided each day in a variety of settings from restaurantstyle seating to familystyle tables; and residents have access to a full beauty salon and secure courtyard areas.

The 69,000-square-foot community caregivers are dedicated to providing “person-centered” and “purpose-filled” care for the residents. Caregivers at The Orchard are trained to focus on caring for the seniors as they would their own family members. The residents enjoy flexibility in their daily schedules and lifestyles, which creates an atmosphere that encompasses both community and security, based on the seniors’ personal preferences.

“Understanding that we are care-driven, or ‘person-centered,’ here at The Orchard is crucial in order to comprehend the uniqueness of what we do for seniors,” said Erica Willis, executive director of The Orchard. “We offer an individualized evaluation program called ‘The Orchard Cares’ to help match all of the programs and services more closely to each resident’s personality and needs. This is what fosters our genuine, strong one-on-one relationships with the residents.”
