Mrs. Charlie Mae Bolding

Mrs. Charlie Mae Bolding 93, was born Charlie Mae Garlow in Beaumont, Texas to Rena Batiste Garlow and Charleston Lewis Garlow on April 30, 1922, the second of four children.

She moved to Houston, Texas in her early childhood continued her primary grades and completed her education at Booker T. Washington­High School in 1939. She began her relationsh­ip with the Lord at an early age. It was then that she became a member of Beebe Tabernacle Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where in maturity she was a dedicated member of the local Missionary Society and served as secretary of the S.L. Green Circle; also served on the Stewardess Board until her health began to fail, and then she was Stewardess Emeritus.

Charlie Mae was married to Nolden Simpson Bolding, Sr. (65 years and 8 days), until his death in 2006. To this union one daughter and two sons were born. Ms. Sharon Allyce Smith Scott, Nolden Simpson Bolding, Jr., and Keith Eugene Bolding and a niece whom they raised as their own, Mimi Steel. Four granddaugh­ters, Michelle Yvette Bolding-Smith, Kimberly Denise Carter (Kenneth), Danielle Harper, and Domonique Beard (Steve). Three Great-Grandchild­ren Kenneth, Kelby, and Kyra Carter and one great-great grandchild Nevaeh Carter. Charlie Mae was known affectiona­tely as by her grand, great, and great-great grandchild­ren as, “Baba”.

Despite the many medical challenges she faced Charlie Mae lived a full and rewarding life. A true giver in all respects, she shared freely with everyone. Her presence was graced with her warmth, her beautiful sense of style and her gift of hospitalit­y. Her holiday gatherings where she shared her excellent cooking and baking skills with family and friends will be forever cherished, and she will be remembered for her strong sense of family. And her, “Lemon Pie.”

Charlie Mae Bolding is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nolden S. Bolding, Sr., her sisters Mary Irene Carter, Ardessa Nixon and her brother Louis Charleston Garlow, Jr. She is survived by her children, grand’s, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mrs. Charlie Mae Bolding departed this life June 25th, 2015 at Cornerston­e Hospital. A special thanks to her home visiting nurse Mariela Ortiz and therapist Emerita Fernandez.

Her Celebratio­n of Life service will be held at Beebe Tabernacle C.M.E. Church, 7210 Langley, Rev. Anthony Reed, Jr. officiatin­g, Saturday July 11th, 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be prior to service 9:00-11:00. Interment July 13, 2015 Houston National Cemetery, 9:00 A.M. gate. Final Arrangemen­ts
