Pearland
Celebrate the good life at the fourth annual Pearland Wine and Food Festival, which will take place from noon-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Pearland Town Center, 11200 W. Broadway St.
The popular event, sponsored by Dionisio Winery, will feature one day of Texas-based wineries showcasing red, white and fruit wines, along with local food, vendors and live music at the center pavilion.
Wine and food enthusiasts are invited to sample wines from more than 10 Texas wineries bringing out top, award-winning wines. The festival grew from 200 guests in 2011 to almost 4,500 visitors in 2014, said Jimmy Aranda, owner of Dionisio Winery.
“It’s doing very well and we’re getting real positive feedback from the community,” said Aranda, a winemaker. “We try to do something different than your generic wine festival. We play little bit of everything, all genres, from old school, Top 40, and live DJs.”
Many of Texas’ top wineries are expected to attend the Pearland festival, as well as some of the state’s premiere restaurants.
“Instead of getting corn dogs that you see at other festivals, there will be restaurants serving real food there (Pearland Town Center),” Aranda said.
Tickets are $30 each, and include a signature wine glass and 10 tasting tickets, plus a souvenir Tshirt and a wine festival bag. Additional tasting tickets are available for $1 each.
The “rain or shine” Pearland Wine and Food Festival is open to ages 21 and up. For more details or tickets, email dionisiowinery@gmail.com or call 713-906-2499.
