Sharon Seline-Wright sensitive to clients feelings, needs

- By Rebecca Maitland HOMES CORRESPONDENT

Real estate, as in life, is about life changes. Sharon Seline-Wright, a Realtor with SSW Fine Properties/Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan, understands that quite deeply.

Her life made a major and abrupt change this year, which caused her to sell her home and move.

“This life change has allowed me to become even more sensitive to what my clients are feeling when they decide to sell or buy a new home. Yet, most of my clients’ decisions are for exciting reasons, such as new babies on the way, empty-nesters downsizing, and even major job promotions that are allowing them to buy their dream home,” Seline Wright said.

Seline-Wright has always been known for listening to her clients but she feels she is listening more deeply now and asking more questions.

“For example, does the job promotion really mean a client can afford a home over $1 million, or do they need to stay under that in order to still travel? Do young couples want to move again in five years as their children need a public school or are they sending them to a private school? Do my empty-nesters want a slightly larger home than first considered, for their adult children who will be visiting a few weeks a year or would a smaller home with a guest room work?” Seline-Wright said.

To Seline-Wright, her clients are not just clients, they are also her friends. She attends weddings, birthday parties, and graduations. She stays in touch with her clients even after closings.

“Challenges recently in real estate have been interesting. I have seen a number of different situations we have had to overcome, which we did successfully. I think as we move along through the changes that are going to occur Oct. 1 in the industry, all agents will need to be more aware and stay on top of each file,” Seline-Wright said.

The continual changes in the real estate industry may take more time, yet Seline-Wright’s contracts close as scheduled.

“Buyers prepare for moving companies and utilities to be turned on, on a specific date and when the closing does not occur on the set date, it causes inconveniences, which dominoes to the sellers who are packed and ready to move, too,” SelineWright said.

Fortunately, SelineWright works with a great team of lenders that keep her abreast along the way that helps keep everything on schedule.

“I am also fortunate that my son, Allen Saper, is my business partner. He brings a different approach to SSW Fine Properties. “Allen works with investors, builders and many first time home buyers. Allen has a list of contractors that allows us to get a home in make-ready condition for rentals, flips and resales,” Seline-Wright said.

Seline-Wright is also known for the classes she teaches at Keller Williams Metropolitan, such as those for new agents. She also has ongoing classes that allow her to pass along her knowledge to seasoned agents. With her interaction with new agents, she is constantly asked to grow her team.

Her answer to this? “I am considering it!” SelineWright said.
