Showcase of Houston homes to return Oct. 24-25
The American Institute of Architects Houston’s annual showcase of residential architecture and design next month will feature several homes in the city.
AIA Houston’s 2015 Home Tour is set for Oct. 24 and 25, and actually features nine houses located across metropolitan Houston. The homes were selected by a jury of industry experts as representations of residential architecture.
The self-guided home tour is open to the public. Attendees will be allowed to walk through the privately-owned homes that were designed by Houston architects and completed within the last five years.
“Our desire is to showcase the best examples of what is currently being designed and built here in Houston,” said Benjamin Perry, chairman of the AIA Houston 2015 Home Tour. “It is not to present a flavor of Houston but a spectrum
of what is happening now – from traditional to modern, 750 square feet to 7,500 square feet, renovation to new construction — and to show how these can be wonderfully different and yet each can be revered.”
Featured house addresses and architects are:

TIRR Memorial Hermann is now offering inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services at Memorial Hermann-Northwest Hospital in the Heights area.
TIRR began providing outpatient services three years ago at Memorial Hermann-Northwest Hospital, but only recently began offering inpatient rehabilitation at the facility. TIRR treats patients with neurological injuries or illnesses, physical weakness from injuries or illnesses and medically complex diagnoses to restore physical function.
“Memorial Hermann-Northwest is completely dedicated to providing elite health care that is readily available to those in the greater Heights,” said Susan Jadlowski, senior vice president and chief executive officer of Memorial Hermann-Northwest, in a news release. “Our staff put forth a tremendous effort to successfully bring the best rehabilitative care in the region to the community we serve. We will continue to enhance our services across our spectrum of care.”
Memorial Hermann-Northwest Hospital is located at 1635 N. Loop West near Loop 610 and Ella Boulevard. It joins a sister hospital in The Woodlands that also offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care. TIRR locations in Memorial City, Kirby Glen and Sugar Land provide outpatient services.
TIRR’s main headquarters, a teaching hospital, offers inpatient rehabilitation services in the Texas Medical Center.
A representative of TIRR said bringing inpatient services to Memorial Hermann-Northwest means Heights area residents will no longer have to travel to the Texas Medical Center or The Woodlands for extended rehabilitation treatment.
