Competition to pick best singer

Formerly known as The Woodlands Idol competition, the re-worked Texas Star: Pure Texas Pure Talent show features performances near The Woodlands over the next month.

The Woodlands competition continues Oct. 30 at Crescent Moon Wine Bar with three preliminary rounds that will narrow a field of 90 local singers to 30 that will advance to the semifinal round on Nov. 6 at Papa’s Beer and Ice House in Spring. The final round featuring the judges’ pick of the top 10 will also be at Papa’s on Nov. 20. A similar series will be conducted by competition organizers in Austin.
