Better sidewalks, beautification top list

Bellaire candidates speak out on what they think is important to residents

Candidates for Bellaire mayor and city council said they know what voters want, and that city beautification and a more adequate sidewalk network top the list.

“The city must get serious about sidewalks. We have some projects going but it is not enough to have a Byzantine patchwork. Many sidewalks are not connected to anything. This is not a shining example of the level of services we want to have,” said Position 2 candidate Trisha Pollard, 62.

She made the comments during a city council candidate forum held at the Bellaire Civic Center Oct. 15.

Bellaire resident Lynn McBee coordinated and sponsored the event along with Margo Kendrick and moderator Corbett Parker, a former councilman.
