QUILT FESTIVAL:

- Syd Kearney

The biggest game in town this weekend has nothing to do with sports. It’s the International Quilt Festival, which will fill the George R. Brown Convention Center with more than 1,500 quilts and textile art pieces. Vendors will fill one hall for quilters seeking supplies and Christmas shoppers seeking gifts. 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday; 1001 Avenida de las Americas; $12; quilts.com.
