PLAYING TRIBUTES:
Gwarrissey is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: A group of Houston musicians dressed up like Gwar playing Smiths songs. That’s pretty emblematic of the Halloweening, in which local performers play songs from music years past. Fat Tony fronts End of the Century, a Ramones tribute band, while Hearts of Animals will play the
music of the Vaselines. There’s plenty more, but you get the gist. 8 p.m. Saturday at Walter’s, 1120 Naylor. Free if you’re in costume, $7 if not; waltersdowntown.com.
