Lone Star Rally revs up in Galveston

Ride in and rock on at the 2015 Geico Lone Star Rally, Nov. 5-8. Each year, hundreds of thousands of motorcycli­sts from across Texas and across the country roll in to historic seaside Galveston for four days of free concerts, manufactur­er displays, bike games, bike and car shows, as well as shopping among hundreds of vendors offering everything from after-market accessorie­s to jewelry and apparel.

This year’s Lone Star Rally kicks off at noon on Thursday with a Cruisin’ Car Show sponsored by Sickie’s Garage and Magic Kustomz at Pier 21 and free concerts on both the Saengerfes­t and Beach Central stages.

On Thursday night, don’t miss former Bad Company lead singer Brian Howe take the Budweiser Stage at 7:30 p.m. at Saengerfes­t.

On Friday and Saturday, the action is non-stop with Bike Games & Shows at Beach Central Park, classic car shows at Pier 21, free concerts day and night on both stages, and more — including the first-ever Full Throttle Saloon Throttle Fest at Beach Central Park.

Check out all the excitement of Michael Ballard and Jesse James’ Throttle Fest, featuring bike stunts, live entertainm­ent and the sexiest bartenders on the planet: The Full Throttle Saloon’s Rockstar Bartenders. Plus rock legends Jackyl will close out both nights with concerts beginning at 10 p.m.

Downtown on Friday and Saturday night, the arena rock tribute act Hairball takes the stage 10 p.m. at Saengerfes­t with their own brand of bombastic rock ’n roll theater.

On Sunday, visitors can be sure to stick around for a Rat Rod & Hot Rod show on The Strand, plus more concerts all day on both stages including David Allen Coe 2:30 p.m. at Saengerfes­t.

All weekend long, The Lone Star Rally welcomes its returning Official Automotive Sponsor, The Houston Area Chevy Dealers, to its new location at Harborside East. Visitors can check out Chevrolet’s latest lineup of 2016 vehicles and maybe score an awesome prize. This year’s rally also is jam packed with more to see and do than ever before.

Visitors can shop the booths and stop by a Lone Star Rally merchandis­e tent to buy a 2015 commemorat­ive T-shirt. Or, they can check out a fantastic array of restaurant­s and bars along The Strand, down the Seawall and Post Office Street — Historic Galveston offers a picturesqu­e party zone.
