James L. COx sr.

1935-2015

James L. Cox Sr., 80, of Cypress passed away on October 27, 2015. He was born in Houston and attended the University of Houston after graduating high school in 1955. During his career James worked for several construction companies including Armco and Lem Construction before starting his own company, J.L. Cox Inc. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and supporting the Houston sports teams. James is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Shirley R. Cox; his parents Hamett and Mary Cox; as well as his sisters, Frances Cox and Willa Jean White. Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Julie Hunt and husband Mike; son James Cox Jr. and wife Delores; grandchildren Rachel, Kayla, Kyle, Lauren, Robert and Carson; great grandchildren Frank and Jesse as well as numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 11:30am-1:30pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:30pm and interment will immediately follow. All services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale.
