Respect first

Regarding “Why has justice for black girls been such an elusive goal” (Page B13, Nov. 1), the article should have been titled “Bad behavior mishandled.”

It is up to the parents to discipline their children and be responsible. If the parents are not responsive and school policies were followed, only then should the police be called and only in the event of imminent danger or violence or threat to others.

Every person deserves respect and should respect the rights of others. The lack of respect and irresponsibility led to a bad situation.
