Jessica Tarin Guidry
1968-2015
A very easy going lady with a heart for volunteering and teaching children, that is how I would describe a woman who devoted her life to her community and education. Jessica Tarin Guidry passed away on November 16, 2015, and will be forever missed by all of us who have taken the tour into the past at Washington on the Brazos Historical Site. For the past 10 years, as a park administrator, Jessica’s smiling face would greet you and provide you with a trip into history. It wasn’t just the people she enjoyed but the oxen on the working Barrington Farm as well. She loved her co-workers and all of us that would go there, especially the children on school field trips. No matter how fashionably late she was, Jessica was always generous with her time and known by all that loved her, never in a hurry!
Jessica was born in New Orleans, La, on February 14, 1968 to Cleveland Guidry and Charlene (Tohey) Guidry. She was their only child. A working family both Cleveland and Charlene were employed by Gulf Oil. Their professions gave them the opportunity to travel the world with Jessica by their side until their retirement in later years. With age, Jessica’s strive for knowledge lead her to graduate from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in recreation parks, tourism and sciences, also with a master’s degree in land economics and agriculture. Needless to say, Jessica loved everything about Texas A&M University and was proud to be an active participant in our community. She also loved the Houston Astros!
Jessica leaves behind her Godparents, Jimmy and Paula Guidry, and her loving extended family.
Friends and family will spend time sharing her memories on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home of College Station; 4080 State Hwy 6 S, College Station, Texas.
Donations in Jessica’s honor should be made to: Aggieland Humane Society; 5359 Leanard Road, Bryan, TX 77807.
