Treemont provides continuum of care

-

One of the most important considerations often overlooked for seniors when choosing a retirement community is: What care options are available for the future? Seniors look at many factors — including the food, the apartment amenities, the campus, activities program and staff. Yet, the adult children are often most concerned with: What happens when Mom or Dad needs more support?

Treemont Retirement Community is a CCRC — a continuing care retirement community — which means your address doesn’t have to change as your care needs do. A CCRC offers the following service levels:

» Independent senior apartments,

» Independence Plus, with home health in one’s independent apartment, » Assisted living, and » Skilled nursing and rehabilitation. Residents can move into an Independent Living apartment such as Treemont knowing they have the option of requesting home health care services now or down the road as their health needs change. Treemont has a “preferred provider” agreement with an on-site home health care provider to provide a helping hand to residents who want to “age in place.”

This might be assistance with medication reminders or bathing or dressing in the senior’s apartment. This permits seniors to remain independent longer in their apartment, often at a lower cost than traditional assisted living.

If health needs change, residents often can transition from independent to a higher level level of care, or participate in Treemont’s skilled nursing and rehabilition programs.

Guests can visit Treemont to determine if a continuing care retirement community is right for them. They also can stay for lunch to meet the residents.
