Holiday season kicks off around The Woodlands
Four holiday-themed events will help The Woodlands community celebrate the kick off of the holiday season on Nov 21.
The Lighting of the Doves at Town Green Park is an all-day festival from 3 to 9 p.m. that features live entertainment, interactive booths, a snow slide and play area, inflatable bounce houses, arts and crafts and fireworks. Santa will make a special appearance on a decorated sleigh on The Woodlands Waterway.
Adjacent to the Lighting of the Doves event, the International Winter on The Waterway event along The Woodlands Waterway features booths with holiday traditions from around the world, a display of various international holiday trees, vendors selling international foods and live music and entertainment.
The official opening of the largest seasonal ice skating rink in the Southwest is also on Nov. 21. The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will be open daily through Jan. 18. Weekend skating sessions are $10.50 for adults and $6 for children age 5 and under. All prices include a skate rental; helmet and children’s skate trainer walker rentals are also available.
Adjacent to the ice rink is Donoho’s Jewellers Winter Wonderland — a large display of Christmas decorations and lights that also begins greeting guests on Nov. 21. Admission is free and begins at dusk until 11 p.m. each night through Jan. 18.
The Ice Rink in The Woodlands and Winter Wonderland are located at the northeast corner of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Drive. Town Green Park is located at 2099 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands. Learn more at www.visitthewoodlands.com or call 281-419-5630.
