Yoga, owls, explorers club planned this fall

-

Thanks to the Houston Audubon Docent Guild there is no shortage of activities at the Edith L. Moore Log Cabin, 440 Wilchester Blvd., heading into the fall season.

Exercise classes featuring yoga will be held every Wednesday and Friday morning in addition to mat pilates on Tuesday and Thursdays.

All classes are from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and cost $15 per class.

On the third Saturday of the month a donation yoga class, “Yoga for the Birds,” is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. and all proceeds benefit the ADG.

Next up is the Owl Prowl with events scheduled on Friday evenings on Nov. 20, Dec. 11, Jan. 22 and Feb. 12.

Each session is from 7-9 p.m.

Participants will have the chance to observe live rehabilitated owls and enjoy a walk in the nearby woods to search for wild owls living nearby.

Pre-registration is required along with a $10 fee for adults and a $6 for children ages 6-17.

Other activities include “Saturdays in Nature,” an open house event that happens the second Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. until noon; “AfterSchool Nature Explorers Club” for children ages 6-10 who are interested in exploring nature every third Thursday from 4-5:30 p.m.; “Titmouse Club” for preschool children 2-5 years old every Tuesday and Thursday from 10-11 a.m.; and “Fourth Saturday Work Day” for anyone who loves the outdoors and would love to help spiff up the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary from 9 a.m. until noon.

Some programs require pre-registration and/or a small fee.
