Nora INglIsh

1932-2015

Nora Covell Inglish, 82, passed away on November 17, 2015 in Houston, Texas after a prolonged illness. Nora was born November 30, 1932 in Galveston, Texas to Milton R.B. Covell, Sr. and Alma Leithead Covell. She grew up in Galveston, graduated from Ball High School, and worked as a secretary for Union Carbide Corporation in Texas City. In 1952 she met Jim while he was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard in Galveston. Nora and Jim were married in 1955 in Galveston at St. Mary’s Cathedral. They lived in Austin, Texas, where their first son was born, and moved to Houston in 1957.

Nora is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, James B. Inglish, Jr., her son, James B. Inglish, III and his wife Martha, her daughter, Diane Inglish Lund and her husband Mark, and her grandsons, James B. Inglish, IV, Grant T. Lund, and Parker E. Lund, and her sister, Eleanor Covell Gardea, and numerous nieces and nephews. Nora was predeceased by her parents, her son, Milton C. Inglish, her brother, Milton R.B. Covell, Jr. and his wife Dorothy, her sister, Mary Margaret Peck and her husband Bernard, and her brother-in-law, Raymond J. Gardea.

Nora, a devout Catholic, was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church since 1967. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was dearly, loved, and who is, and will be forever missed by each and every one of us.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors 8303, Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Nora’s Eternal Life will be on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Dr., Houston, TX 77024. Interment in Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, Houston, TX 77023. It was Nora’s desire that remembrances in memory of her be directed to St. Mary’s Seminary, 9845 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77024-3498.
