Miss Molly Houston Scott Weds Mr. John Dodge Ellerman
Miss Molly Houston Scott and Mr. John Dodge Ellerman were united in marriage at seven o’clock in the evening on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. John E. Stephens, of Houston, Texas, and Rev. Tova Sido, of Dallas, Texas. Music for the ceremony was conducted by Encore Strings and Vaughan Pederson, trumpeter. Holy Scripture passages were read by Mr. Sydney Dodge Carter, maternal grandfather of the groom, and Miss Haley Catherine Monaco. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Houston Country Club, with music provided by Pure Party Band. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at River Oaks Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Patrick Scott, Sr., of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell Irish, IV, of Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph Scott of Beaumont, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Scott Ellerman, Sr., of Dallas, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Dodge Carter, of Dallas, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. John Henning Ellerman of Paradise Valley, Arizona, and Mr. and Mrs. John Cobb Goodall, of Northfield, Illinois. .
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory gown designed by Naeem Khan. The trumpet-like silhouette fashioned a strapless sweetheart neckline and a fitted bodice made of intricate embroidery threadwork, completed by a fluted skirt made of delicate layers of tulle, and accompanied by an ivory European cathedral- length veil of sheer illusion with French lace trim. She carried a hand tied bouquet of white Phalo orchids and white hydrangea.
Elyse Scott Hatch, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor, and Adele Marie Pitzer served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Molly Catlett Bell, Holly Collier Blalock, Audrey Spalding Dunlap, Allison Miller Edgar, Amy Meredith Ellerman, sister of the groom, Blair Burke Foster, Callie Anne Holland, Caitlin Channing Means, Allison McConnell Monroe, Jenna Dyer Owen, and Jennifer Leigh Williamson. Members of the House Party were Rebecca Arnold Helms, Haley Catherine Monaco, Maureen Kelley Scott, and Brittany Stephens Steitz.
Mr. Jeffrey Scott Ellerman, Jr., brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were John Aaron Ausburn, William Ross Bolin, Logan Matthews Dickinson, George Carter Dunlap, Jr., cousin of the groom, Ryan Heath Fanning, David Crowell Lawson, Holt William Redwine, Ryan Lorman Ross, John Patrick Scott, Jr., brother of the bride, William Benjamin Voigt, and Nathan Montgomery Wynne. Serving as ushers were Edward Brown Dale, William Albert Harris, III, William Campbell Hatch, Brock Andrew Hensarling, Ernest Preston Perry, and Madison Morgan Smith. Master Thomas Carter Hunt served as ring bearer.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Memorial High School in Houston, Texas, and a 2010 graduate of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a degree in Finance. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Molly is a Senior Account Manager at RewardStyle in Dallas. The groom is a 2007 graduate of Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas, and a 2011 graduate of the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University, where he earned a degree in Finance. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. John is in Brokerage Services at CBRE in Dallas.
Following a honeymoon in Kauai and Maui, Hawaii, Molly and John will reside in Dallas.
