House blaze injures firefighter, elderly resident
A fire fighter was hurt and a 94-year-old woman was sent to the hospital Tuesdaynight after a blaze swept through a home in northeast Houston.
The fire broke out about 11:50 p.m. in the 2000 block of Common Street near James, according to the Houston Fire Department.
Officials said firefighters helped the elderly woman from the home. Shewas takento a nearby hospital as a precaution.
A fire fighter injured his hand and was takento Memorial Her mann hospital. Details of his injury and condition were not released.
Investigators later determined the home’s water heater somehow sparked the blaze.
