Baylor avenges loss to OSU

WACO— Nina Davis had 13 points with 13 rebounds and No. 4 Baylor won its 13th consecutiv­e game while avenging its only loss of the season, 6641 over No. 17 Oklahoma State on Wednesday night.

The Lady Bears (26-1, 13-1 Big 12) led throughout after scoring the first 10 points.

Alexis Jones had 20 points for Baylor, while senior point guard Niya Johnson had 11 assists after missing the 52-45 loss at Oklahoma State in the Big 12 opener on Dec. 30.

Brady Sanders scored 12 points and the No. 8 Longhorns overcame a 14-point second-half deficit to defeat the visiting Wildcats.

Sanders made two free throws and a putback on consecutiv­e possession­s to put UT (23-2, 12-2 Big 12) ahead to stay 47-43 with four minutes remaining.

At Storr, Conn., Breanna Stewart scored 14 points off the bench to lead the top-ranked Huskies to their 62nd straight win.

Coach Geno Auriemma chose not to start Stewart or his two other stars, Moriah Jefferson and Morgan Tuck, against a team UConn beat by 62 points earlier this season.
