The Sam Houston Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution recently presented its Good Citizen scholarship to Clear Horizons High School senior Daniel ReubenMina.

Families can enjoy live historical demonstrations, music and more at the annual San Jacinto Day Festival, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 23 on San Jacinto Monument grounds.
Funded in part by Deer Park’s hotel tax fund, the admission-free festival features the largest battle re-enactment in the state, re-creating the events leading up to Texas winning its independence from Mexico at the Battle of San Jacinto on April 21, 1836.
