Pottery classes for all levels planned

Potter Barb Blu will demonstrate her unique art and techniques using clay from 1-5 p.m. Feb. 27 in Galerie Spectra located in Memorial City Mall at 303 Memorial City Way.

In addition, Blu is also offering a Beginner’s Clay Workshop, which will be held in two parts on March 22 and 31 with both sessions lasting from 7-9 p.m.

The first session focuses on forming a footed plate from raw materials. The second session teaches students how to paint and finish their piece after the first firing. The piece will then be fired a second and final time and the newly minted artists can collect their art.

The workshop costs $160 and includes all materials. Register at www. galeriespectra.org.

In other Spectra Galerie news, an artists meeting is set at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 in the gallery. The program will feature Lorena Fernandez speaking on “Carl Jung’s Shadow and Personal Liberation Through Art.”
