Lasting legacy: St. Agnes claimed another Division I girls’ title at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools State Swimming Championships in San Antonio. The Tigers avenged last year’s close loss to rival Dallas Ursuline, winning its 26th state crown and 25th since joining TAPPS.

More records: In all, St. Agnes swimmers broke a whopping 17 personal records. There also were two school records that were set in the Josh Davis Natatorium’s pool – the 200-yard medley relay (1:52.02) and junior Anastasia Kontrimas in the 200 individual medley (2:09.58).

Scary good: The Tigers could be even better in 2017. They only graduate one key senior – Sarah Steffes – and return a strong nucleus. In addition to Kontrimas and fellow juniors Meg Meliet, Isabella Smith, Lilli Storemski and Delaney Wolfe, other notables include sophomores Bridie Hibbler, Fernanda Machicao and Lilli Metts and freshmen Fendley Russell and Rachel Wright.
