Attorneys plan April 26 luncheon meeting

-

Area attorneys are invited to the April 26 lunch meeting of the Katy Bar Association at 11:30 a.m. at Willowfork Country Club, 21055 Westheimer Parkway, Katy.

Guest speaker Georgia Barker, principal of the Barker Law Firm PC, will present “Temporary Orders on Borrowed Time,” which was originally presented at the 2015 Advanced Family Law, with permission of the authors.

Barker notes that temporary orders are not always temporary because they often continue into the final orders.

Because temporary orders are so important she will discuss why attorneys need the right tools, information and amount of preparation to present their client’s case under a strict time limits.

Barker practices family law, probate and guardianships in Fort Bend and contiguous counties.

Her Sugar Land law office has been open for eight years. Her experience includes working as an in-house corporate negotiator/landman for oil companies.

KBA President Sarah Springer said, “We are fortunate that our fellow bar members are investing their time, energy and expertise to provide us with insights to better represent our clients.

“Area attorneys are again invited and welcomed to attend our meeting. Join us for lunch, and earn an hour of CLE,” added Springer.
