TCCHS receives engineering certification

- By Jennifer James

Thanks to its work promoting science, technology, engineering and math, Turner College and Career High School recently received national certification for its Project Lead The Way program.

PLTW — designed for kindergarten through 12th grade — empowers students to work in groups, identify problems and design and test solutions by creating devices, machines and equipment. The program also provides teachers with professional development and support.

“Project Lead The Way allows students to explore STEM fields and gets them thinking about college and their careers. We are extremely proud to be PLTW-certified and excited that our students are eligible for college-level recognition, such as possible college credit, scholarships and admissions preference,” Principal Jennifer Morrow said.
