The John Cooper School baseball team went 2-1 last week, beating Houston Power 9-2 and Shepherd 5-2 and falling 6-4 to Kinkaid in 10 innings.

Evan Minarovic earned the win and Jonathan Beaty went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs against Power, and Minarovic went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Jaeden Camstra picked up the win over Shepherd.

Braden Sebesta was the losing pitcher against Kinkaid.

That setback sent the Dragons to 3-2 in SPC South Zone play and 19-11 overall.

“The 10-inning loss vs. Kinkaid will be remembered around here for a long time,” coach Brent Landrum said in a release.

“It was a great game. Both teams played very well.”

Cooper returns to action April 21 at Baseball USA against Houston Christian.
