LOISE ELAINE RAMSEY VAN WART

1933-2016

Loise Elaine Ramsey Van Wart, 82, of Silsbee, Texas passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. Lois loved God, her family, her many friends, and the United States of America. Predeceased by her parents Johnnie Zigler Ramsey and Billie King Ramsey. Lois grew up in Houston, Texas where she attended Jeff Davis High School and the University of Houston.

Lois volunteered her time and gave tirelessly to improve her nation and her community. She served many years as an active member and was past president of Magic Circle Republican Womens Club, and was an active member of the Greater Houston Pachyderm Club. She served on a Harris County Grand Jury and represented Harris County on the task force to choose a new voting machine. She volunteered with the Methodist Hospital Service Corp for 12 years.

Lois is survived by her husband C. Donald Van Wart, her son Jeffery King Van Wart and wife Linda, daughter Jill Van Wart Hood, grandchildren Jeffery King “Jay” Van Wart, Jr. and wife Kaci, William Hood II, Elaine Van Wart, Donald Ramsey Hood and wife Ashley, and Carson Van Wart; great grandchildren Rebecca Hood and Jeffery King “Colt” Van Wart III. We will all miss her beyond words.

Family visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 4:30 until 6:30 at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.

Graveside service for Lois will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, Houston, Texas 77023 with the memorial service following at 11:30 at Berachah Church, 2815 Sage Road, Houston, Texas 77056. Reception following the service at Houston Country Club, 1 Potomac Drive, Houston, Texas 77057.
