Attorney to talk about State Bar of Texas services at luncheon
Attorneys are invited to the May 24 lunch meeting of the Katy Bar Association at 11:30 a.m. at Cellar Door, 810 Mason Road, Katy.
Rehan Alimohammad, a founding partner of Alimohammad & Zafar, PLLC in charge of immigration law, tax law and litigation of family law matters, will talk about programs and services provided by the State Bar of Texas. He will show how the State Bar helps attorneys and the public.
Alimohammad received his BBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996, and his JD from the University of Houston Law Center in 2001.
He has been a certified public accountant since 1999 and an attorney since 2001.
He was listed as one of the Top Attorneys in Houston by Houstonia Magazine from 2013-15 and has a 10.0 Superb rating on AVVO, which ranks all licensed attorneys. He also was named one of the Five Outstanding Young Texans by the Texas Junior Chamber of Commerce in 2011 for pro bono service.
Alimohammad is minority director of the State Bar of Texas, adviser to the Texas State Bar Section on Immigration & Nationality, member of the Texas State Bar committee on laws relating to immigration and nationality; appointed legal counsel, board member, and team lead for the Diversity Action Team for the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce; director for the Katy Bar Association; on the Leadership Task Force for the Katy Area Economic Development Council; and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Fort Bend County Bar Association and the Houston Bar Association.
