Good for the goose …

Regarding “Proposal would ban transgender bathrooms on Capitol Hill” (Page A19, Wednesday), among a number of amendments proposed by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, to the House spending bill is one I support. King wants to allow members and House employees to carry firearms on the Capitol grounds. I would even go further and allow the public to carry licensed fire arms. This amendment should be adopted by state governments that support liberal gun rights — Texas being the poster child.

Elected officials such as the governor, lieutenant governor along with those in the state House and Senate, should be exposed to the same risk I am exposed to on the streets of Houston. And let’s not forget the Republican presidential nominee who wants to abolish gun-free zones.
