See free movie, celebrate Bowl

-

The city of Katy will host Katy Summer Nights on June 10 from 7-10 p.m. in Harvest Plaza, 5701 Third St. in Katy.

Area residents can watch a family-friendly movie under the stars with popcorn. Children can play on inflatables, and moviegoers are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and snacks. This event is free. The movie will be “Little Giants.”

The movie event is part of the festivities for the Bayou Bowl, which will be played at Katy’s Rhodes Stadium on June 11.

Guests at Katy Summer Nights are encouraged to dress in their favorite football gear and be prepared to meet Bayou Bowl players, participate in footballthemed activities and enjoy light refreshments.

The Bayou Bowl will see 80 of the greater Houston area’s best high school football players face off. They will be divided into east and west teams.

The game raises money for scholarships for students whose schools are members of the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association, the nonprofit association that sponsors the game. The June game will be the first time Katy has hosted the event.
