- By Kim Moeller

Rover Oaks Pet Resort has launched its sixth annual monthlong donation drive, “Operation: War Dogs,” to support the nonprofit Mission K9 Rescue, the Houston chapter of the United States War Dogs Association. The drive officially began on Memorial Day and ends on July Fourth. In 2015, Rover Oaks raised more than $35,000.

Mission K9 Rescue is dedicated to the service of retiring and retired military working dogs. They provide monetary, transportation, adoption and professional assistance for these retired hero dogs.

Donations can be made by credit card online at roveroaks.com/wardogs. Donations will also be accepted via cash or check at Rover Oaks Katy near Katy Mills Mall.

Rover Oaks will give a free night of lodging at their facilities to every donor who contributes $100 or more. Donations of $25 will receive a commemorative Army dog tag necklace or USWDA bandana.

In addition, Rover Oaks will decorate its facilities with patriotic pawprints presenting the names of the clients and community members who contribute to Mission K9 Rescue.

Rover Oaks Katy is located at 24250 Kingsland Blvd. in Katy. To learn more, call 281-693-7687 or visit www.roveroaks.com.
