Clear Falls sailors looking forward to competitio­n on the water

And that is exactly what Byerly and Masterson plan to do upon graduation. Byerly will be attending St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Masterson will be at College of Charleston in South Carolina, but when it comes to college sailing, they know exactly what they looking forward to the most.

“Competing against each other,” said Masterson. “We’ll be able to compete against each other next year to see who’s really the best at Clear Falls High School,” said Byerly.

Despite their competitiv­e nature, when asked what they will miss most about Clear Falls and high school sailing, the answer was quite simple.

“Each other,” said Byerly and Masterson simultaneo­usly.

“Like any team sport, you are probably closest with your team because you get to travel around, but different from any high school sport, we travel the country together,” Masterson said.

Despite their competitiv­e nature, when asked what they will miss most about Clear Falls and high school sailing, the answer was quite simple.

“Each other,” said Byerly and Masterson simultaneo­usly.

“I think we are a lot like an extremely dysfunctio­nal family,” Masterson joked.
