Carmelo’s to host party for 35th anniversary

Houston’s Carmelo’s Ristorante Italiano, 14795 Memorial Drive, is celebrating its 35th anniversary from 5 to 6:30 p.m. June 12 with a cocktail party.

The restaurant will serve free hors d’oeuvres and Italian wine and will feature live music by keyboardist Diana Warner and tenor Carlos Nassar.

Owner Carmelo Mauro said he is grateful for his customers who supported the restaurant during its 35 years.

“Thank you to our patrons for making our business a great success and for having shared with us both your daily and most important life moments,” he said.

“Please join us as we celebrate our anniversary with hors d’oeuvres, Italian vino and, of course, cake.”

Carmelo’s challenged students from several area elementary schools to come up with a celebration design.

The winner, a fourthgrade student at Barbara Bush Elementary, won a gift card, and the school received a donation to support its school activities.
