T-shirt winner could see slogan at restaurant

-

The public is invited to help Kenny and Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen Restaurant come up with the next clever one-liners to adorn the restaurant’s new T-shirts during its “Waddaya Sayin’ T-shirt Contest.”

The restaurant is known for its catchy T-shirt sayings, such as “Don’t you wish your pastrami was hot like me?” Now, through June 20, the restaurant is accepting submissions either in writing or in person at either of its area locations or on Kenny and Ziggy’s Facebook page.

The best phrase selected by a panel of judges, including the restaurant owner Ziggy Gruber, will receive a $50 Kenny and Ziggy’s gift certificate and a T-shirt with their winning one-liner.

To be eligible to win, the phrase has to mention something on the restaurant’s menu.

Kenny and Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen Restaurant is located at 2327 Post Oak Boulevard in the Galleria area and at 5172 Buffalo Speedway in the Plaza in the Park Shopping Center at Buffalo Speedway and Westpark.

The restaurants are open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

The new shirts, which sell for $19.95 each, should be ready for sale by midJuly, according to the restaurant.

The T-shirt slogan contest began three years ago.
