Brazos River flood recovery effort organized in county

A coalition of nonprofit and government­al organizati­ons, churches and community supporters are organized to provide relief to approximat­e 4,000 flood victims in the Richmond, Rosenberg, Simonton, Fulshear and Missouri City areas.

Donations are being accepted at the auditorium of B.F. Terry High School, 5500 Ave. N in Rosenberg.

Needs include toiletries, water, diapers, baby wipes and formula, Ensure, towels, blankets and new clothing: specifical­ly undergarme­nts, socks, shorts and T-shirts.

Drop-off sites include the Central Fort Bend Chamber, 4120 Ave. H, Rosenberg; Gingerbrea­d Academy, 814 FM 2977, Rosenberg and Common Threads, 710 Houston St., Richmond.

Cash donations to support victims are being accepted by Second Mile at www.secondmile.org.
