Brazos River flood recovery effort organized in county

A coalition of nonprofit and governmental organizations, churches and community supporters are organized to provide relief to approximate 4,000 flood victims in the Richmond, Rosenberg, Simonton, Fulshear and Missouri City areas.

Donations are being accepted at the auditorium of B.F. Terry High School, 5500 Ave. N in Rosenberg.

Needs include toiletries, water, diapers, baby wipes and formula, Ensure, towels, blankets and new clothing: specifically undergarments, socks, shorts and T-shirts.

Drop-off sites include the Central Fort Bend Chamber, 4120 Ave. H, Rosenberg; Gingerbread Academy, 814 FM 2977, Rosenberg and Common Threads, 710 Houston St., Richmond.

Cash donations to support victims are being accepted by Second Mile at www.secondmile.org.
