Land purchased in Bridgeland for fire station

Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 has purchased 2.02 acres for an emergency services facility, Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department station 13, in Bridgeland, according to Howard Hughes Corp. executives in a news release. Cy-Fair Volunteer Department is the contracted services provider to HCESD 9 and will provide fire suppressio­n, EMS and rescue services from this station, which will be on the east side of Westgreen just south of Bridgeland Creek Parkway. The station will occupy approximat­ely 19,000 square feet in a one-story building with four to five apparatus bays, living quarters, a training/ conference room, work rooms, a decontamin­ation room, turn-out gear space, EMS storage and a physical wellness area. The facility is expected to be complete within one year after breaking ground. Martinez Architects, LLC is designing the station.
