Hiring event for vets and spouses planned June 16

A job fair for United States military veterans and their spouses will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 16 at Minute Maid Park, 501 Crawford St.

Hosted by RecruitMil­itary, the Veteran Career Fair is a free hiring event for veterans, transition­ing military personnel, U.S. National Guard members, Reserve members and spouses.

Attendees are invited to connect with employers that seeking to hire and retain talent.

RecruitMil­itary has held 31 events in Houston, drawing 14,788 attendees and 1,778 exhibitors.

“RecruitMil­itary job fairs maintain a track record of helping veterans find meaningful employment,” said President and CEO Peter Gudmundsso­n.

“Just last year, 56 percent of veteran job seekers expected to secure an interview as a result of their participat­ion in a RecruitMil­itary job fair and employers were expected to extend as many as 38,700 interviews and more than 12,000 job offers.”
